{"id":120,"date":"2020-03-27T12:01:00","date_gmt":"2020-03-27T12:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/grandmaingrids.com\/frommykitchen\/?p=120"},"modified":"2020-03-27T21:12:51","modified_gmt":"2020-03-27T21:12:51","slug":"part-5-crockpot-orange-chicken","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/grandmaingrids.com\/frommykitchen\/index.php\/2020\/03\/27\/part-5-crockpot-orange-chicken\/","title":{"rendered":"Part Five: Crockpot Orange Chicken"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>\u00bd of an onion<\/li><li>2 large carrots (peeled and sliced about 1\/2-inch thick) <\/li><li>2 large red or green bell peppers (cut into 1\/2-inch chunks) <\/li><li>3 cloves of garlic (finely minced)<\/li><li>4 boneless skinless chicken breasts <\/li><li>2 teaspoons of ground ginger <\/li><li>1 teaspoon of salt <\/li><li>\u00bd teaspoon of pepper <\/li><li>The juice of 3 oranges plus zest<\/li><li>Mandarin orange segments or fresh orange segments for garnish<\/li><li>2 green onions (chopped)<\/li><li>Cooked rice <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Directions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Put carrots, peppers, garlic, then the chicken, ginger, salt, pepper &amp; orange juice in a Crockpot. Cover and cook on LOW 3 to 4 hours.Serve over top of hot cooked rice. Top with orange segments and green onions.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> How to cook rice <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Bring 3 cups of water to a boil add a pinch of salt. Stir in 1\u00bd cups of rice, turn down to low and cook with the lid on for 20 minutes.
