Grandma Ingrid has had a jar of this sitting on her counter for over 40 years! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Dry Ingredients<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>2 pounds (4 cups) of rice<\/li><li>1 pound of vermicelli<\/li><li>1 pound of barley<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dry Directions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Break the vermicelli noodles into small pieces and mix them with rice and barley. Store in a large airtight container. This will make about six cups of dry rice mix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cooking Ingredients<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 cup of rice o roni mix (see above)<\/li><li>2 tablespoons of butter<\/li><li>2 tablespoons of soup base<\/li><li>2 cups of water<\/li><li>1 tablespoon of parsley (dry or fresh)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cooking Directions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In a pan, melt the butter and then add the rice\/pasta mix. Stir and cook mixture until brown. Add soup base, parsley and water and bring to a boil cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
