Ingredients
3 Cups flour
2 Cups sugar
1 Cup cold butter grated with a cheese grater
Mix all together and save 1 Cup for later
Add to the balance of crumb mixture:
2 teaspoons nutmeg
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
2 Tablespoons Cocoa
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 Cups buttermilk
½ cups nuts
(to make Pumpkin Spice cake add 2 cups raw grated pumpkin)
Directions
Mix together and pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle the reserved crumbs over the top and bake in a 350 ℉ oven for 40 to 50 minutes.
Pudding caramel Sauce
1 cup of water
1/2 cup of butter
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
Melt and thicken with cornstarch. Mix cornstarch in with the 1 cup of cold water until dissolved then add to butter and sugar mix and heat.
