Homemade Mulling Spices

Ingredients (to make 1 spice bag 2 tablespoons for each bag)

  • 2 teaspoons of crushed cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of cardamon (if in pods crush some)
  • 1 teaspoon of crushed allspice
  • 1 teaspoon of cloves
  • 2 teaspoons dried orange peel
  • 2 teaspoons dried lemon peel
  • 1 nutmeg crushed

Ingredients (to make 20 spice bags 2 tablespoons for each bag)

  • 1/2 cup of crushed cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup of cardamon (if in pods crush some)
  • 1/4 cup of crushed allspice
  • 1/4 cup of cloves
  • 1/2 cup of dried orange peel
  • 1/2 cup of dried lemon peel
  • 12 nutmeg crushed

In a bowl mix all of the ingredients together. In a spice bag adding 2 tablespoons. Tie up the bag and tie a wine cork on the end using a eye screw to attach to the cork. This will keep it floating in your mulling liquid. Here are some good beverages to use your spice bag in

  • Cran-raspberry juice

  • Black tea

Any of these make an excellent mulled beverage, however try mixing several together for a delicious change of pace.
