  • 1 cup buttermilk

Heat about 3 quarts of oil to 350 ℉. Use an oil like vegetable, peanut, canola, and safflower.

Prepare your hot dogs. Take the hot dog and put a stick into the hot dog about half way.  Cook hot dog on a hot pan just to blister it and bring out some flavors. Take the hot dogs off the pan and place them on a paper towel and wipe off any moisture. Sprinkle cornstarch over the hot dog rubbing in all over the dog. This will help the batter stick. Pour batter in a tall glass or container. Dip the dog straight down and cover your entire dog. Pull straight out. Place dipped dog into hot oil cook until dark golden brown turning in the oil to get all sides cooked. Only add 2 or 3 at a time. Be carefully use tongs to pull corn dog out and place on a rack to cool to eat.
