Ingredients
- 3 cups of flour
- 4 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon of salt
- 6 tablespoons of shortening
- 1 cup of milk
- 2-3 cups finely chopped fruit
- cinnamon to cover fruit
Sauce
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of flour
- 1 cup of cold water
Directions
In a bowl with a colander drain juices off of fruit set aside and let it continue to drain as you make the rest of your recipe. In a bowl make dough. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt mix well. Using your hands mix in cubed up shortening until covered with flour but still has some lumps. Mix in milk all at once and form a dough. Roll out your dough into a large rectangle. Pour fruit on dough and spread into a thick layer. Sprinkle with cinnamon then roll dough up into a log. Cut the dough into 1 inch rings (like cinnamon rolls) place in a greased 9 x 13 pan. For Sauce: In a sauce pan mix flour and sugar then add water and bring to a boil. Pour over rolls then bake in a 350 ℉ preheated oven for 40- 45 minutes.
