Croutons/Bread Crumbs

Ingredients 

  • 4 slices store bought or equivalent homemade bread
  • 1 Tablespoon of italian herbs (or herbs of choice)
  • 1 teaspoon Krista seasoning (Santa Maria style)

Directions

Preheat oven to 300 ℉

For Croutons
Cut bread into hunks. If you are using bread crumbs for salad, make them smaller in size. For stuffing make into ½ inch cubes. Place cut bread in a bowl and toss with seasoning. Pour on a sheet pan and toast for 10 minutes or until crisp. They will harden more as they cool. Put in an airtight container and save.

For Bread Crumbs made with croutons

Make the above and put in a food processor with blade attachment and whirl until bread crumb size.
If making just bread crumbs not croutons take all the above ingredients and place in a food processor and whirl up then transfer to a sheet pan and toast until crisp.
